Voodoo Kings Music

Hey Folks,

Come one out this Saturday, 2/11/12, to the Live Wire Lounge at 3394 N Milwaukee in Chicago for a great show with the VOODOO KINGS, The Adler Kings, Jason and the Punknecks, and Royal Sons of a Gun! VDK hits the stage at 9PM for one set: easy peasy!!! Should be a smashing good time.. Don’t forget to lisen to the VOODOO KINGS on Jango.com and if you fly, the VOODOO KINGS will be featured on Hello Music on Delta Airlines in March and April, so book your flight and listen to some great music while hurling through the air at 500 MPH!!! YEEAW!!!!

This will be a special acoustic show featuring Wayne Braxton on standup bass and a stripped down version of VDK. Looking forward to playing all the tunes acoustically. It will be awesome to be able to do this. Its not everyday you get a chance to see and hear what the tunes sound like acoustically. Its definitely a  different vibe and we will be rockin so come on out and enjoy the fun and music. Its been a while but that doesn’t matter, been busy doing our thing. Check out the latest review of the bands cd “Mileage” at the Illinois Entertainers website. Hi Everyone. Hopefully we will see some fresh new faces at the Montrose Room on July 15th. I would like to thank August Forte and Novo Arts for doing all the legwork for the show.  Planning on being spectacular that night. Would like to give a big shout out to Songandfilm.com for picking up the song “Animal” and placing it in their library for licensing opportunities. Alwyas nice!!!! You can always hear some VDK music at Jango.com, a great resource for new music for your ears…See  you for the craziness on the 15th @ the Montrose Room, 5100 N River Road, Rosemont, Il in the Hotel Intercontinental.

A little note for the summer.  The song “Animal” from VDK’s American Lights record has been picked up by the company Song And Film, www.songandfilm.com, and placed in their libray for licensing opportunities. We’d like to thank them for doing that. Always nice to be noticed.  That same song “Animal” has also broken the top 10 on the Rock charts at Broadjam.com.  Always nice to see our music being played and listened to and enjoyed.  Did we mention that you can listen to VDK at anytime by going to Jango.com?  We are in rotation on that great music site.  Lots of indie music and great artists and a great platform for VDK music and others to be heard without the stress of trying to get on terrestial radio.

VOODOO KINGS were also in the studio cutting an electric version of the song “strong will survive’ which appears acoustically on the last release “mileage”.  We had the benefit of working with Larry Sturm at Pressure Point recording studios down on Michigan Avenue… Beautiful place and a great session.   We are entering into an agreement with Magnatune.com to release all three of our CDs,  stay tuned for details.  We will also be featured on the site www.bestoriginalsong.com and will be competing in their weekly contest.  I love all these cool sites where you can listen to boatloads of music.  Check out www.weeklyindie.com and subscribe to this site.  VDK music is being featured on this site right now!!!!!

Hi All and welcome to 2011!!!  Looking forsward to 2011 and then again who isn’t.  Should be filled with fun and shows and touring.  Headed into the studio to record a single version of ‘Strong Will Survive’ off the “Mileage” record.  Should be lots of fun and looking forward to working with LArry Sturm at Pressure Point recording studios.  An electric version of the song is what we will be doing and it should rock like no one’s business.  You can always follow us on twitter @vdkchicago. Back from the the Ukraine bleary eyed and satisfied.  From Kien to Kharkov to Donesk to Denepropetrosk and back to Kiev.  You can go from a village that hasn’t changed in a 150 years to Gucci and the Ritz in a matter of 150 kilometers.  A great experience, people were great and music was awesome.A great time at the Liverpool Club.  Thanks Alex for taking care of us.    Had a slamming time playing with Andre Howard and Tony Dale.  A kickin rhythm section!!!  Had a great show on Friday at the Montrose Room. VDK rocked!
